Nestled in a historic brick building in Downtown Eau Claire, Houligans Steak & Seafood Pub has been offering fine dining with a pub atmosphere to the Chippewa Valley since 2002. Renowned as Eau Claire's premier steak and seafood destination, we are home to the famous Candied Garlic Sauce™. Our menu features aged, hand-cut steaks and fresh seafood, served by an exceptional team in a warm and inviting setting. Founded by Executive Chef Guy Logan and General Manager Jon Seybold, who bravely transitioned from 40 years in country club management, Houligans has become a beloved establishment thanks to their blend of expertise, dedication, and a dash of luck.

Our Story

Houligan’s Steak & Seafood Pub was born in 2002 when our executive chef Guy Logan and general manager Jon Seybold decided to put their 40 years of private country club experience behind them and mortgaged their homes to open our establishment. They survived their first few years in business with only luck and experience on their side, but the dedication paid off, as we are now one of the most popular fine dining restaurants in Eau Claire.

As with any new business venture, hands-on experience is an essential ingredient to success, as proven by our decades of serving delicious food to our guests. Our combination of quality food and great atmosphere makes for an excellent dining experience here at Houligan’s. Our inviting and comfortable pub setting will make you feel at ease, and our trained staff is attentive and knowledgeable about our full-course menu.

We are best known for our premium cut steaks and fresh seafood made with locally sourced ingredients. Our menu also includes soups and salads, pasta, chicken, desserts, cocktails, craft beers, and wine. We provide catering services and have a banquet facility available to host wedding rehearsals and other events.

It is rare in todays' world to find an old world supper club with both great food, AND great service...but we found it right here at Houligans! The food was great, we shared the Seafood Bake, and the Prime Rib. Very tasty, quality incredients. And our server, Caleb was so helpful and such a great server. The staff was very supportive of each other, and exemplified the concept of teamwork at every angle. The ambiance was beautiful and the feel was nostalgic of a time when good food and good service was the norm. This is a rare treasure, as such, I would reccomend reservations. There is metered street parking. This is a perfect place to dine before, or after, going to a show @ The Pablo which is just a couple blocks down the road. Perfect date night dinner spot!

I stopped in for a family dinner while on a business trip, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Making a reservation was easy, and although we arrived a bit early, the reception staff was welcoming and accommodating. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made us feel comfortable right away. My uncle and I ordered the ribeye, while my aunt had the cod sandwich. We also shared the shrimp cakes and seafood bake appetizers. Everything was delicious, and we didn't have any leftovers. I will definitely be coming back on my next trip.
